On 30 December 1948, the Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) publishes its Interim Report on the European Recovery Programme that focuses on the economic situation in Austria.
The Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) was created in 1948 in order to administer the financial assistance offered under the Marshall Plan in a European recovery programme.
The Marshall Plan was officially called the European Recovery Program, or ERP.
On 2 November 1949, the Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) adopts a resolution on the liberalisation of trade and payments in order to accelerate the European integration process.
The programme for European recovery was divided into subsidies and loans amounting to a total of about 13 billion dollars distributed between April 1948 and June 1951.
In October, the recently-created Cominform took a fiercely critical stance towards the aid provided by the Marshall Plan, unveiled by the United States in June 1947, for the rebuilding of Europe.
