Three species of billfishes are in threatened or Near Threatened categories: Blue Marlin (Makaira nigricans), Vulnerable; White Marlin (Kajikia albida), Vulnerable; and Striped Marlin (Kajikia audax), Near Threatened.

Where else can you expect to strike any six of the seven billfish such as Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Spearfish, Swordfish, Sailfish and possibly also catch shark, Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna, and Bonito, all on the same day?

The striped marlin, Kajikia audax, is a species of marlin found in tropical to temperate Indo-Pacific oceans not far from the surface.

Black and blue marlin visit the waters of Baja between June and December, sailfish are around from April to October, while the striped marlin is a year round resident.
