À partir des telles caractérisations, des minerais acidogènes (par ex., la pyrite, la marcasite, la pyrrhotite) et des minerais neutralisateurs des acides (par ex., la calcite, la dolomite) peuvent être quantifiés.

From such characterisations, acid generating minerals (e.g. pyrite, marcasite, pyrrhotite) and acid neutralising minerals (e.g. calcite, dolomite) can be quantified.

La spectroradiométrie, outil d'étude des impacts des rejets miniers sur l'environnement: application aux rejets de la mine de jalta (tunisie)
...International audienceThe mine of Jalta (exploited from 1900 to 1986) is located 83km from Tunis city in the North -Western part of Tunisia. Large dumps result from the accumulation of solid mining wastes after the processing of the Pb-Zn ore within the borders of the mining area. Exposed to different meteoric factors, sulphides from the tailings dams and wastes are oxidized thus generating acid mining drainage (AMD) capable to mobilize and release heavy metals associated to sulphides. In this survey, the impact of these mining wastes on the environment has been controlled for the first time in Tunisia by means of spectroradiometry. This work is based on the identification of characteristic spectral absorption features of each mineral in view of the mineralogical characterization of the mineral surfaces in the study area from their spectroradiometric measurements. The different absorption features of mineral surfaces studied in this paper either overlap or are poorly visible. It is hence necessary to find means to enhance them and therefore to differentiate them. The second derivative of spectral curves enables the achievement of this objective (Brasset, 1995)....
