If the activity involves changes to the alignment of a part of a stream or other watercourse that is situated in the habitat of redside dace,

Some have restricted ranges (eg, redside dace, Clinostomus elongatus, of Lake Ontario drainages); others are found coast to coast.

Successful stabilization of the Redside Dace populations could serve as a tangible and visible case study for balancing environmental and development concerns.
