IRIDOCYCLITIS: Inflammation of both the iris and the ciliary body of the eye.

Eye inflammation (iridocyclitis) is caused by an abnormal immune response against the eye (autoimmune).

— Iridocyclitis: the anterior chamber of the eye can become inflamed, which could be associated with high intraocular pressure.

Since the anterior part of the uvea is formed by the iris and the ciliary body, the complication is named either chronic iridocyclitis or chronic anterior uveitis.

Those that have developed iridocyclitis should have more frequent examinations, depending on the severity of eye involvement determined during ophthalmologic visits.
