Europhobia: Fear of Europeans and prejudice against Europeans, their descendants, and practices and ideas that originated in Europe.
The suffix -phobia is used to coin terms that denote a particular anti-ethnic or anti-demographic sentiment, such as Europhobia, Francophobia, Hispanophobia, and Indophobia.
[1] This text takes up and develops ideas that were initially published in "Euroscepticism and Europhobia: the Threat of Populism" in The Schuman Report on Europe.
Vox supporters see the European ruling as an an insult to Spain and are using it with undisguised Euroscepticism as an argument for a hypothetical Spexit (Spain's exit from the EU).
But euroscepticism can further be viewed as part of a spectrum, ranging from 'europhobia' - similar to xenophobia - to a healthy sceptical attitude, and questioning of accepted beliefs.
