Or would they want me to make good use of it and be happy?

And if He willed a blessing for me, can they hold back His mercy?

Or if He (Allah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His mercy?” meaning, they cannot do any of that at all.

One should never remember a kindness done, and never forget a kindness received.

Or, if He wills that grace should alight on me, could they withhold His grace [from me]?

We’re doing the praise for our own benefit, not for Buddha’s benefit.

Never forget a favor received; be quick to forget a favor bestowed.
