Exceptions to the restricted acts
Article 5 (Exceptions to the restricted acts) paragraph 3 states:

11 Article 5 of Directive 91/250, which provides for exceptions to the restricted acts, reads as follows:
225 However, it must be observed that that legal exception to the acts subject to restrictions, that is to say, to acts requiring the author’s consent, must be interpreted strictly.
7 In Chapter II, Article 6 of that directive, entitled ‘Exceptions to restricted acts’, provides in paragraph (1):
The creator of a database enjoys a group of exclusive rights (restricted acts), e.g. reproduction, alteration, distribution, etc.
