There are three outstanding lending arrangements with the IMF outside of the quota system: the multilateral New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB), the General Arrangements to Borrow (GAB) and the temporary bilateral borrowing agreement.

The IMF has also benefited immensely from another set of recent innovations that have received almost zero news coverage: the New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB) and the General Arrangements to Borrow (GAB).

The two chambers of Parliament approve a Federal Decree on Swiss accession to the IMF’s General Arrangements to Borrow (GAB).

In June, the two chambers of Parliament approve a prolongation of Switzerland’s membership in the IMF’s General Arrangements to Borrow (GAB).

On 20 June, the two chambers of Parliament approve a renewal of Switzerland’s membership in the International Monetary Fund’s General Arrangements to Borrow (GAB) until the end of 2008.

(c) References to drawings and commitments under the General Arrangements to Borrow shall include drawings and commitments under the Associated Borrowing Arrangements referred to in paragraph 23 of the General Arrangements to Borrow.

We will seek early ratification of the increases in resources for the International Monetary Fund and the General Arrangements to Borrow.
