A vertical-type double-head surface grinding machine for machining a brake disk, the surface grinding machine being capable of grinding both surfaces of various disk-like workpieces without changing work holders.
The surface grinding machine has a pair of upper and lower grinding wheels (2, 3) rotating about a vertical axis and the rotatable work holders (9) for holding, as a workpiece (W), the brake disk having a center hole (18).
A surface grinder can be used to prepare surfaces such as floors and sheet metal for cars.
Intended is to improve a grinding precision in a double head grinder with a simple structure, thereby to prevent the offset wear of grinding wheels (2).
