Are Aleppo Pines, Mountain Pines, Salzmann Pine or Yew trees, which probably survived during glaciation periods in narrow and protected ecological niches, the only indigenous coniferous trees in France?
The tree species found here include the amazing mountain pine, some specimens of which, growing at the foot of the Pic de Néouvielle, are more than 600 years old.
