Celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Pan African Women's Organisation (PAWO)

50th anniversary of the creation of the Pan African Women’s Organization (PAWO) (1962) (2012)

Twelve years on, after the establishment of the CFA, Women gathered again on the 31 July 1974 in Dakar, Senegal, to create an even more representative organisation called the Pan African Women’s organisation (PAWO);

It was on that occasion that the Pan African Women’s Organization (PAWO), which has the status of a specialized agency of the AU, was formed.

This year, the theme chosen by the Pan-African Women’s Organization (PAWO) is “Role of women and young girls in the areas of education, science and new technologies for an African Renaissance”.
