Harnessing Artificial Intelligence to Strengthen Journalism and Media Development in Line with UNESCO’s Internet Universality ROAM Principles

Representing the Ranking Digital Rights project, Ms Rebecca MacKinnon shared the useful reference brought by the project as being complementary to UNESCO’s ROAM-X Indicators.

These are built on the “ROAM” principles, which advocate for an Internet-based on human Rights, that is Open, Accessible to all, and nurtured by Multistakeholder participation.

The project team covers the diverse expertise of the different ROAM-X categories of indicators: that of human Rights, Openness, Accessibility, Multistakeholder participation and Cross-cutting indicators.

The set includes 303 indicators meant to assess the state of Internet development nationally, with regard to the ROAM principles of human Rights, Openness, Accessibility, Multi-stakeholder participation.
